A.T. Kearney Press Release: ‘Art exhibition complements firm’s commitment to sustainability’

The New York office’s inaugural art exhibition and reception, Benevolent New World, was quite a spectacle. This program had it all: striking (and eco-friendly) artwork, lovely opera arias sung live by EA Teresa Zugger, fine food and wine, and a mixed audience of employees, clients, artists, friends and neighbors.
“We wanted to make this an interesting and fun experience for everyone,” said Office Manager Tori La Londe, who organized and managed the event. “The artists were in attendance to answer questions and all of the pieces on display were available for purchase.”
While the special reception was held on Friday, 3 December, the exhibit is scheduled to run through 7 January, 2011.
“The artwork explores contemporary notions of sustainability and issues related to our relationship with nature — a theme that complements A.T. Kearney’s commitment to protect the environment,” Tori said.
Teresa Zugger (above) performed two arias from Gianni Schicchi and Anna Bolina at the art exhibit opening. She has a master’s degree in Voice Performance from the University of Buffalo and has sung with many opera companies across the country.
The seven artists featured in the exhibition represent the global presence that enriches New York. All live in the five boroughs of New York, yet their region of origin ranges from New Zealand to Wisconsin to Mexico and Canada. The mediums they use include recycled envelopes from bills and solicitations letters, eco-friendly paints, recycled materials, and even Google Earth scans.
The artists are: Diego Anaya, Jude Broughan, Jessica Cannon, Karen Fitzgerald, Matt Jensen, Graham MacBeth and Sarah Nicole Phillips. Heidi Lee served as curator of the exhibit. (www.HeidiLeeArtAdvisory.com).
All of the art featured at the event was environmentally friendly. Even the food was artfully displayed.
Sustainability and community service are core A.T. Kearney values. In 2010, we became the first traditional high-value added consulting firm to become carbon neutral worldwide. Reaching this goal is part of a broader initiative to deliver sustainable, environmentally-sound results to a global client base and to spearhead local initiatives and drive cultural change.
To further extend A.T. Kearney’s commitment to sustainability and community service, extra food from this event was donated to Common Ground, a pioneer in the development of supportive housing and other research-based practices that help fight homelessness. Common Ground has received The Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence, the Peter Drucker Award for Non-Profit Innovation, and the World Habitat Award through the United Nations and Building and Social Housing Foundation.
Tori said the event was a success due to great teamwork by everyone involved, with special thanks to Jim Singer and Axel Erhard who co-championed the event; Heidi Lee, the curator who gathered and displayed the artists’ work; and Margo Stahl and Tammie Lay.
